Our Lord has shared with us in recent times the importance of mercy. We have learned that through St. Faustina that His mercy is larger than any ocean, and all we have to do is ask for it! The fifth Beatitude found in Matthew Chapter 5 is “Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy.” This Beatitude is essential for us moms! We need to cultivate a heart of mercy and know that our children and family members will hurt us, offend us and even embarrass us, but how we respond is essential. We must be willing to show mercy to our family and forgive them with a sincere heart; for a grudge held over someone’s head will not bear fruits of joy and peace, but rather wrath and anger. WE must be willing to show others the most beautiful attribute of God, and that is His mercy. His mercy flows forth from His most sacred heart. We must be willing to be a witness to mercy and keep purifying our hearts by forgiving others and showing them mercy. For if we show others mercy and instruct our children in mercy, our Heavenly Father will show us mercy.
Let us pray: Dear Jesus, please help us to show others mercy
so that in return You will show us mercy! Amen.
May we be a light in this world by being instruments of mercy.
